- What I Love About My Small Home:
- It's a small space but perfect for me. I love that I have an extra room to use as a dressing room and to work and I love that it's cozy and a bit old fashioned. My style is a mix of Ikea, Habitat, flea market, and stuff I inherited from my grandmother. I used grey and blue colors mixed with white and sea grass carpets to create a little bit of the feeling of a house at the sea.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- I don't have a real dining area. I love to entertain but realized that I never eat on a dining table myself, so I only need it once in a while. The table in the dressing room can open up to a bigger table and I move it in the living room if I have guests for dinner. Works perfectly!

My favorite room was the bedroom except for the lack of closet doors. The colors and bed itself makes me want to take a nap. Nice.
Very cozy, awesome use of your space! What kind of couch is that? Soooo want!
Love the white and natural tones with the light blue touches! And your kitchenlooks so cosy, I can just imagine sitting at the table with the morning sun streaming in, reading with a cup of coffe. Of all the entries this is the one I can see myself living in the most.
I agree about the bedroom. So calm and peaceful. Lovely curtains!
I love the purple chair in the kitchen. You've made your home seem very open and breezy, with the curtain choices and the relaxed furnishings. I like it a lot.
Love the dressing room. It would have been nice to see a picture of the entryway - all those doors...
So casual. I love it!
That couch is awesome. I just want to run and dive and flop on it!
I really love how quirky it is to see a refrigerator on the kitchen counter. :) Your bedroom is amazing! Nice calming colors throughout!
I love the bedroom. It is so peaceful and relaxing. I especially like the art work and the blue and white color combination. It reminds me me of a bedroom in a little seaside cottage.
That is a seriously serene bedroom. Such a light touch.
Could you tell me where the painting over the bed is from? Been looking for something very similar. About to make my own. Not sure how good it would turn out though. Thanks!
Loving the spare room turned dressing area - nice use of space. Also loving the kitchen set up - great way to take advantage of the window. It must be wonderful to come home to such a calm space at the end of a hard day. Enjoy it!
Love how the living room is put together. The couch is awsome. I like the dressing room also it just right. It's a peaceful little home
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments! Happy to answer your questions: the sofa is actually two big beanbag like cushions, from the italian brand Gervasoni. The pictures above the sofa and the bed I painted myself, although I would never call myself an artist. So Tracy333, just go for it! In case you are wondering about the colours, I used Farrow and Ball Borrowed Light in the bedroom and Pavillion Grey in the living room.
Very unique, calm and pleasantly warm feeling! Love it!
I totally agree with the fridge-on-the-counter, for short fridges, who wants to be leaning over every single time you open it? I'd do it that way even if I did have floor space!
I recently changed an office room over to a dressing room. Ain't it grand? My desk is now in the sitting room.
I usually don't love the more muted colour apts but this one just speaks to me. The whole space manages to look sedated without being drab. I'm relaxed just looking at these pictures!
Nice how neat you are and how you made your floor plan all squiggly in paint!
I would frame it;)
Your place is calm and sophisticated. I so love those couches and your kitchen and bedroom are really calming. Nice plants and artwork too.
Serene!
What a cute place! Hugs from Geneva
Luckily, I didn't need the plan to understand the layout ;). Beautiful space love your living space and the kitchen!
The more I look at the photos of all the entries, the more I realize how truly difficult it must be to do a carefully edited, uncluttered small space. This one is lovely.
Love the colors!
Charming home! I especially like the cozy kitchen. I LOVE the peacefulness of the bedroom, but agree with others about the closet. It seems to add clutter to an otherwise peaceful space: it would be so much better with doors or something covering it... maybe even a white sheer curtain that could be drawn. I really LOVE EVERYTHING else about your home. I could totally feel myself living in that space. :)
What the hell is with the layout drawing? That's hysterical.
