- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- Our bedroom incorporates some things my husband and I have accumulated and loved for a long time, and that have appeared in different spots and guises in the various places we've called home. The bureaus we splurged on when starting out give us joy every day, along with the colorful resin lamps.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- I'm a person who feels best in a spare, simple environment- I just don't think as clearly or relax as much in "busy" spaces. And soothing "spring leaves" green has been a color choice in at least 4 rooms from the past, and still works for me. I love things that float, like the hacked Ikea side tables, because I don't have to vacuum around them.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- Since this is a smaller house for us, the bedroom is a newly important place to escape from each other and drink a cup of coffee, read or watch t.v.

Love the clean lines and the calming feel it gives! Very nice!
Love the look of your bed and the painted (or wallpapered?) strip behind it, with the cozy reading chair next to it. The red and orange details feel essential to keep this extremely streamlined, clean space alive. Your beautiful bureaus give added warmth.
Oh, and as someone who has spent a lot of time in Vermont, I get how vital it is to have all those windows and the lively green on the walls--winters are long and cruel.

I love the simplicity of this room. It beckons! The bed looks very comfortable and so do the chairs. The green on the walls is perfect. Everything melds and works together to create a serene and tranquil space!

Many of the bedrooms in this contest have reading chairs and they just flat out don't look believable. They seem more prop than relaxing book haven. But not this room. This room actually looks like a true retreat, a place in which to read and unwind. Though much of this is not my personal taste, I still think it is my favorite room so far. It is so well put together. I love the wood of the dressers. Very nice.
