A Sustainable Renovation in Georgia

Instead of moving to a bigger home or building a new one, Justin and Jennifer Beals of Atlanta, Georgia decided to preform a green renovation instead using local Georgia cypress and recycled doors. The outcome is impressive.

The renovation was designed to create a courtyard and outdoor room at its center where a fireplace and chimney would stand as a sculptural and focal element for the home. And that it does - the chimney is the first thing you notice about this home which towers over the court yard. The surounding Georgia Cypress siding is also gorgeous.

The entire project was designed by LightRoom. Other green finishes include stained concrete, recycled wood doors, passive solar windows, and stained oak floors.
