- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love that it's cozy yet sophisticated. But what I love the most is the beautiful view through the window on to the neighborhood park.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- Banish the kids! Just joking! The reality is my bedroom is usually littered with discarded toys and musical instruments which my lovely boys bring in but forget to take with them when they leave. It's the sunniest and warmest room in the house so everyone tends to congregate in here on the weekends and after school. And the truth is, I wouldn't have it any other way. Now if I could only stop them from playing nerf gun wars in here.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- My bedroom is probably my favorite room in my house and I definitely make the most of it. If I'm not reading or on the iPad in bed, then I'm doing yoga on the rug in the middle. I also have a couple of seating zones, but they're mostly used for impromptu clothes storage.

I want to crawl into that bed and read with the window open - lovely!
What beautiful curtains! They add such warmth and coziness. I love the room.
Beautiful and calming, but ... what's behind the curtain??
So beautiful and calming. Where did you get the flowers on the dresser?
I can almost feel the warmth and happiness inducing effect of this room radiating from the computer screen...
Gorgeous. Where are the duvet and shams from?
Really nice and soothing room, it's so cohesive in the colors and textures. I especially love your floor lamp and would love to find a similar one for my bedroom!
Love, love, love!
@gingerish, the duvets and shams are from Dwell.

cozy! i love the curtain and how you made the best of a pitched ceiling by making it look open and airy!
Really lovely room, and also love the bedding.
Hands down my favorite so far!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. @catspyjamas510 behind the curtains is my husbands teeny tiny closet that is infront of the stairwell. The curtains also help to hide some awkard ceiling angles.
@thesmilequeen. I bought the flowers a few years ago on clearance from Anthropologie.
Swoooooning. Oh my, so beautiful. I love your comforter and the romantic drapes. Just lovely. Even the rose is perfect.
Love your shadow picture... so personal and touching.
Wasn't this room a Room for Color entry a few years ago? I loved it then (unless I am thinking of a different room), but it looks even better now!
Beautiful. I love the way you bring in different textures and patterns so harmoniously.
@alahoop, yes this room was in the Room for Color in 2010. Well spotted. It's changed a bit since then though. I had to replace the duvet cover which I loved because it was developing holes. They didn't make that duvet anymore so I was really sad, but I found 2 different duvets, both from DwellStudio. I also got a new bed, changed out the side tables and moved the dresser and chair. You can see more pictures of the room with the different duvets here http://backonfestiveroad.blogspot.com/2013/03/chic-chinoiserie.html.
Up until now I thought, "I don't care about this contest." But I just had to vote for your bedroom. So beautiful!
@heypielady, thanks so much; you've really made my day :)
I'm definitely playing catch-up so I don't expect to get in the top 4, but I love reading all the positive comments.
I had to vote for this one, it really stands out! I love everything about it. Suzanne would you share the paint color and a source for the Roman shades? Beautiful.
@adanielo, thanks so much for the vote and the lovely comment. Unfortunately the room was painted over 10 years ago, and the only thing I remember about it was that it was Martha Stewart paint from Home Depot. I made the Roman shades myself from linen fabric. I'm pleased to say they've held up remarkably well.
This is such a lovely space! One of my faves, so far! Good luck. :)
Beautiful... wishing I could take back my favoriting of those other rooms. You should win!
This is a lovely perfect little hideaway. So pretty!
I love this! I'm building a house with a loft bedroom and this has answered some of my questions.
