The SVAT WRC101 Wireless Outdoor Remote Control Power Outlet is a little trick for those of you who are looking for a quick solution for remote controlled lights for the home. Attach it to your keys or just leave it in your car and click as you approach your home.
Allz you gotta do is PLUG it into an outlet, inside or out, and then PLUG a light into it and Viola... set to go. Use the remote the way you open your car door. You could even hook it up to something like your coffee maker or a Rube Goldberg flap-jacker. You want one? Go here and you shall have one.

oh man, these are great. i bought two of them (not this brand), and made sure they picked up to the same frequency. one remote goes in my car, the other in my bedroom. it's a quick fix for pulling up to my dark house at night. one click of the switch, and my porch light (a hanging chinese lantern) and living room lamp are both on. great transition.
If you plugged a power strip into this, couldn't you use it as a remote to turn on/off vampire power supplies (e.g. ipod/cell/PDA/etc plugged into same power strip)? That way, you could have the strip hidden behind furniture but still turn it on/off when you want without strugging to find the switch on the power strip.
I love these as well. We have them and use them, great for outdoor lighting and indoor just as Lizkid points out. I like the idea for using one for vampire power supplies as well. I hate struggling to hit the 'off' button for mine. It's not in an easy access spot. You go Ami, I am taking your idea!
Check at Belkin/conserve line they have a remote powerstrip and some other items coming out in July 2010.
