It's no secret I have a thing for doilies and other assorted knitted or crocheted items. They're handmade with love and care and although I've talked about ways to make them feel fresh and modern, I love this idea that keeps them a little dated yet seasonally appropriate.
Betz White is always at the top of my list when it comes to fiber arts and reclaiming old fabrics and materials to make them into something new. She doesn't disappoint with this sweet and slightly creepy doily or crocheted spider web. It's perfect for the holidays but I'm seeing potential beyond that, especially with a little modern touch to it.
Even if you're not into the whole black and orange Halloween thing, I can totally see this being done as an everyday piece of artwork for your home. Try a white web with a bright pink spider (even one of those plastic rings would work!) and hang it up amongst your other artwork! It's a good way to keep family heirlooms on display and out of the closet.
