I didn't come across this seat when I was looking at booster seats for my daughter, but I wish I had. Each SweetSeat is handmade and the perfect height so those little legs won't get squashed. It also meets my #1 criteria: easy to clean.
The seats are made of laminated cotton and are also portable. It seems to me they could also be used on the floor as well as on a chair. While the price tag of $84 is a bit steep, there is an outlet on their website where they sell slightly imperfect seats.

but what about as the child grows? how long can one child stay in a particular sized seat?
i think kids use a booster seat up to the age of about three or four??? depends on how little your kid is.
That’s out of my budget, but it’s certainly food for thought… It’s prettier than a plastic one, and looks more comfortable, too. If it lasted for more than one child, it could be worth it.
I had one of those as a little kid...I believe it was vinyl though because I remember my legs used to stick to it. And I can guarantee my mother with 4 kids didn't pay $84 for it.
I haven't thought about that sweet booster seat in a long time. Thanks AT.
my daughter was given this seat... and she loved it for years. heirloom quality and super sturdy.
AKL-I had one too!! In fact, it was kept at my grandparents' house and all 4 of the grandkids used it (and at some point fought over it). What a great memory! I wish they weren't $84, I'd buy one for my kids...maybe I'll do a little hunting for a "vintage" one...
I had one like that back in the early 70s! I wish it came full size with cool legs. I'd use it as a living room chair.
I also remember having one of those when I was a kid! I think mine was yellow and I totally remember always sticking to it too :) They are so cute but so expensive!
Is there a DIY tutorial for something similar? I can't stomach paying $84, but this is EXACTLY what we need right now...my 2-year-old refuses to be in her high chair anymore, and I hate the strap-on seat because she gets gunk caught under it and it's really hard to take on and off of the chair (and since we only have 4 real chairs, it kind of takes one of those out of the picture if we need it quickly, because it requires unstrapping and a COMPLETE wipe down to get out the gummies underneath).
So PLEASE...how do I make one?!
Wow. My whole first paragraph above was ONE long run-on sentence. Sorry.
I feel totally lucky for finding this at the thrift store for $2 AFTER I saw this post. The vinyl isn't as cool (60's raggedy ann and andy) but I am stoked none the less!
I had this same style seat growing up. Of course the vinyl pattern was different but this brought back memories all the same.
