Room for Color
Love this room! Can we get a source for the bed? It's so tall!
And best colour tip ever!
Love this! I wish I had that Malkovich picture, and I like how the picture frame color is the same as the window frames. I love the fan - may I ask who the maker is?
How fun! Great color tip. Dia de los Malkovich is an excellent holiday.
The green on the wall is fab. Love the structure of the ceiling too.
I might be a little bit obsessed with this room. Wow!
I love shades of red and shades of green together. It's not done enough and I just love this room.
Love the raunchy librarian painting. But the teal made me gasp in delight before I even made the jump
Excellent colors. Great sense of humor. Who's the artist who did the Malkovich portrait/print?
Thanks everyone! A couple of answers:
I actually painted the Malkovich portrait directly onto that little door (which leads to a weird closet / room / the inside of John Malkovich's head under the eaves). If you're interested in prints (of any of the paintings), you can contact me via my art website.
Oh, and the fan is made by Hunter (though I wouldn't recommend it - it's flaky).
This is fabulous. Love your tip. :)
Now that's some color. Love it. It really emphasizes the unique ceiling architecture and the Malkovich portrait is classic! Plus the advice is very on topic. I need to stop thinking about resale myself.
Gorgeous and hilarious. Bravo!
best title in the contest, hands down
....so I've now met with the painters and my bedroom will have a dark teal wall and a dark teal "cave" .This cave is a funky alcove that I never knew what to do with until I decided to make it a feature and put my reading chair in there along with a tabletop fountain on a side table. My new oasis.
All because of you! Thanks!
Love! I'm a fan of saturated color, and this is a fab combination. Where is the duvet from? Those are the colors in our bedroom, and I am always on the lookout for duvets/bedding to add to the mix.
LOVE the colors. But seriously, how do you sleep with that picture staring at you??
Thanks! The duvet is Marimekko for Crate and Barrel, but it's a few years old. If you're able to find one, it's definitely worth it - those colors have stayed rich and lovely despite a gazillion washings.
These two Parrots- Gone -Human paint their walls to reflect the secret soul of their own inner color and heritage-Unlike the Yak Turd colors that so many use-- attempting to be boringly bland-these two live in a luscious Shout-Out of gorgeous colors. And their dramatic paintings and photographs make their room a cozy museum for their art. Maybe they could rent out their bedroom by night for potential art-buyers wanting to live with the art in a real setting. zizzskacs (or did I pick zizzskac?)
Perfect Being John Malkovich reference. Love the whole thing.
@xand83 - I know! That bed is awesome! Please someone post where it's from, or, instructions on how to make it!
