My wall of floor to ceiling windows! Not only does it make for incredible light in my apartment, but it also frames downtown Tucson, which just keeps continuing to flourish. It is also especially great for watching storms (which I happen to be doing as I type this).
I love how comfortable my friends and family are when they come over. Even though my apartment is small, it is proving to be plenty of room for entertaining which I am so happy about because it turns out I really enjoy being a hostess!

I learned very quickly that the tidier you keep your space the bigger it feels. So my advice would be to always have a junk drawer, box, etc. This gives you an easy out for when you want to spruce your space up quickly. Later, when you're in an organizing mood, you can sort through whatever was tossed in.
Use the limited square footage to help you determine your favorite things. By having to pare down furniture, accessories, art, etc., I really learned what pieces are most special to me, which in turn, makes my apartment so much more special.
Always have fresh flowers! Or succulents or herbs or any kind of plant, really. I treat myself to fresh flowers once a week and it immediately brings new life to my space. I learned this trick from my mom.
