- Inspiration for my palette:
- This is my daughter's bedroom and she suggested the stripes. We had used purple and turquoise in other parts of the house . She wanted a mix of relaxing soothing hues (salmon and pastel blue) and dynamic colors. The two other walls were painted white. The result is cool and warm at the same time.
- Colors used in my room
- I used 5 different colors, one for each stripe : from top to bottom : red-orange, salmon pink, purple, turquoise and pastel blue.
- Tips for using color successfully
- It's important to consider the light and exposure when the choosing the colors.

Like the colors. You need something above the desk though. Maybe that cute lion with the crown picture?
Or a nice ornate mirror. :)
I thought I would hate something like this, but I love it! I think the colors are a little off beat, which adds to its charm, and the width of the stripes is perfect. Everything else in the room is so simple and pared down, this wall really makes it a fun, impactful space.
Sylvie. Festive and bold..your dgt. has already pasted the test "go for it" in decor. It's only paint. Thanks for the painting tip...so very important.
I agree with the others..too empty of a space above the desk. Think your going to need something bold too. Three odd numbers.. copy the flowers from the bed spread. One put a mirrow, another a cork board, and last use a paint for dri- marks -a lot m ay be used. A desk light is necessary also. May we see a redo? You have a vote from me ....#17
At first I was like "ugh!". But then I was like, "oh, yeah!" Love it, even though it took a second look! That googly eyed rug ties the whole room together and reminds me of barbapapa! Lovely job.
