We featured Ace's workstation previously, and now he's back with an update. His setup still mostly runs off his MacBook Pro, but he's added some extra processing power. Read on to find out more.

We've mentioned that the MacBook Pro and Mac Mini workstation combination worked well in the past, but Ace has put his own spin on things, using a plethora of mobile devices to power his home office. The Mac Mini is a good way of powering your media and entertainment needs while you're at home, without having the need for a full desktop. It's a good step that's inbetween an iMac and a Mac Pro in power and features. The small form factor is especially interesting for users who want to keep their devices unobtrusive.

His current setup includes a MacBook Pro 13 that's hooked up to a 24-inch Samsung monitor. The Mac Mini is hooked up to a 24-inch Asus monitor. Both monitors are mounted on a Planar Dual Monitor Stand. His most recent addition to his setup includes an Apple Magic Trackpad. Both the MacBook Pro and the Mac Mini are controlled with the same keyboard and trackpad. This is done wirelessly thanks to Synergy, which allows you to share a keyboard and mouse between different machines without any extra wires.

The iPad 3G 32GB stands on an Elago P2 Stand, which can be had on Amazon for $30. The sound is provided by Harman Kardon Soundsticks. Some of this MacBook totting friends recommended the Apple Magic Trackpad and he mentions that it has been an easy transition.
