This just hit our inbox: Designer Mark Cutler makes these Tableaux Cloths as "a low cost yet stylish solution for a covered table". Available in 5 different sizes, this modern take on trompe l'oeil manages to be both practical and a bit humorous...
Mark says that the standard is black printed on beige but they can be custom colored (for a small surcharge) with any Pantone color you choose.
No pricing info, but they are available currently through Colburn Sassaman.

I'm in love with them. I would like the prints on white fabric.
They probably wouldn't be as humorous once one of my dogs peed on them. An interesting idea though.
I'm itching to put a ghost lamp on one of these--and maybe a ghost chair next to it! Vive l'illusion!
Tee hee! I would love to see this in fuschia, not because it goes with my decor, but just for added mischief factor.
Love it!!!! I want one.
These are great. The last issue of Blueprint had a DIY project that looked a lot like these -- can't find a link but it involved applying clip art to furniture. Could be a nice (cheaper) alternative.
I love this. It's kind of like a print, and yet not. What else one could do is go ahead and put one of these on the table, and THEN put a piece of glass on top of that, which would protect it, kind of like people sometimes do with those round cheap tables that they put tablecloths on.
I haven't looked on their site, but methinx that just in case, they should also sell cheap wooden tables to go underneath these, while they're at it.
I love them, but I bet they cost as much as a nice new side table would.
Brilliant!
You could DIY this pretty easily. Buy one of those Dover books that allows you to reproduce antique images, print to fabric/iron stuff...iron on fabric. Probably wouldn't look as nice as these do...but you could scale it to the exact size of your furniture.
So cute! But, I bet expensive. Does anyone know how much these are?
P.S. These remind me of the Grandpa Clock that generate design sells. http://www.gnr8.biz/product_info.php?products_id=474
