Tables To Put Your Tiles On

Last week we fantasized about making a tile top table and this week we're one step closer to even knowing where to start. Turns out, you can buy a table frame already made for pretty cheap (relatively):

You can order any of these tables from Aftosa and then get some plywood to fit the top to lay the tile on.

A coffee table is $50 plus $13 shipping (to southern california). Then you have to decide on some of the gorgeous tile we've been talking about and you're set. Is anyone considering doing this, or does it work better in fantasy?

FYI the pictured tile is from Walker Zanger a more zen tile style.

I'm so glad you posted this on your site! I am actually considering removing some old tiles on my table top and adding some colorful glass tiles. Any suggestions as to where to look for glass mosaic tiles and order a few different samples??

I just finished my first mosaic-tiling project: the top of an Ikea Lack coffee table I found in my alley last year. I want to assure you, it was not too difficult. I ordered the tiles from modwalls.com. Their tile blends are mesh-backed by the square foot, which was a lot faster to lay down to apply than single tiles. In terms of the installation, I followed this tutorial from Better Homes and Gardens Australia:

There were some nerve-wracking moments, but nothing my novice friend and I couldn't handle. Now I want to tile the entire world.
