Segno, the Italian word for "sign," was inspired by active and adventurous people who enjoy experimenting, entertaining and living life to its fullest. Throughout life's journeys, society is universally guided by well designed geometric shapes. By altering shapes based on signage, Segno symbolizes bringing life's journeys to the table. The paths we have chosen exemplify a feast of self-expression, joy, and experimentation.

As designers, we must change the way we look at everyday objects and how we can make them more enjoyable and functional. Segno transforms universal symbols to personalize one's table and promote interaction. Because each piece is separate and different, interaction is needed to make the experience. The overall storage organization of Segno was created in a puzzle-like way to continue the playful-meets-functional concept of tableware. Each piece can be pulled out and arranged according to a specific dish and purpose, then neatly put away in its base, which also doubles as a serving tray. Segno takes conventional table top organization and form and reorganizes it so that each setup promotes conviviality, joy and self-expression.  For more information please contact Candace Foster at cfieldfoster@gmail.com
