Let's say you're a modernist, but love the traditional warm, earthy colors of Thanksgiving. There's no reason we can't modernize the holiday while holding on to the neutral, warm tones of the season. If you're like me, and love a monochromatic table, try these clean neutrals on for size.
- I love the fluid lines and modern edge to this Terrain dinnerware from Cb2, $3.95 - $5.95.
- Add some texture with Woven placemats from Cb2, on sale for $7.95.
- For a tabletop glow, consider Glassybaby's "Giving Together" candle holder set from Glassybaby, $88.
- For coffee and espresso after all that turkey (or tofurkey!), a clean, matte Classic Century Cup from Crate & Barrel, $15.95.
- Textiles say it all: I love these Willow Ship Napkins, from Heath Ceramics, $30.

Commercial Flour Sa...
Oooh, I love me some linen, and those Willow Ship Napkins do appeal, but $30/napkin?That price pushes tightwads, uh, FRUGAL people like me to DIY my own block print on linen or even a dropcloth, maybe with a more tailored, blind-stitch hem or higher contrast visible stitches. But they are lovely. (Well, maybe I'd buy a single napkin and turn it into a pillow cover.) These products make my neutrals-lovin' heart go pitty-pat.
I hate those $88 glassybaby votives too. So insanely stupidly priced; I don't care if they're made my orphaned sick puppies.
Hahaha, Gillianne, I had the same thought about the napkin, how lovely it'd be to have just one. That's a great idea about making a pillow cover out of nice linens.
agree about the silly prices.
I do like the neutral colors, clean crisp.
Actually Glassybabies aren't made by sick puppies, they are made by glass artists trying to make a living, that was my first job out of college. But they are totally overpriced, and have progressively treated their employees worse and worse as they become more successful. I would recommend NOT buying Glassybabies, but supporting an individual glass artist instead.
Very nice and beautiful and above all, these are in affordable price.
