Timelessly modern. This weekend, I was perusing through the recently opened Bloomingdales store at South Coast Plaza, which has a fancy housewares section downstairs. I was passing by the dinnerware section when my eye was drawn to this clean and simple set of dishes and in particular, the sugar bowl. I assumed this was some brand new line but it turns out I was looking at a classic design from Walter Gropius! Walter Gropius was a German architect and founder of the Bauhaus. He is considered one of the pioneering masters of "modern architecture." The Tac 02 dinnerware collection by Rosenthal is based off of his original drawings. Each piece is designed around the geometric forms of the circle and the globe. It's so great to see that Rosenthal continues to provide these affordable designs that continue to hold up and look fresh today. They're also currently on sale! I highly recommend checking these out in person. But you can get an overview here, as well as here.
