Is there such thing as small space music? We're beginning to think so with a brief listen to Japan's Tailor Made For a Small Room. The couple's (and friends) tunes are soft and minimal - just exactly the sort of stuff you might imagine was conceived with small room listening in mind.

A few things we can cull together from what little we know about Tailor Made For a Small Room:

It seems their instrumentation is literally small. Like a tiny Casio keyboard (the kind you play with as a child) and acoustic guitar. No giant amps or room-hogging drum sets here. And like we said above, the music is soft and somewhat minimal. Is this more pleasant in a small space than louder music? Its seems maybe so... Finally, the band's sensitive music is matched by poster designs that we find eminently appealing. So, does all of this add up to something? Is there a new genre of "small space music" formulating out there?
