Tailored is one of those words that we think means a lot to different people. As it should. “Tailored” can fit in with a lot of different styles because it usually represents something that has an elegant feel to it. Something that has clean lines; an “unfussy” look. Sometimes boxy, oftentimes with firm cushions, tailored doesn’t designate a certain color or pattern, but it does infuse interiors with a lot of sophistication. Need proof? We found ten recent house tours sporting tailored sofas, and you can see for yourself how elegant they make each space:

My first sofa was cottage style sofa with fluffy cushions from a reputable store ..within a few years, the cushions lost their shapes and started to look very messy and ugly. the sofa made the whole room look unfinished so we got rid of it and got a clean modern line sofa which I love...now the room looks more polished and finished.
We have a modern sofa and love it. Our current house, however, is a 1940s cottage. It's much easier to soften a modern sofa than to modernize a fluffy one. Happy to have a tailored piece.

That first photo is still one of my favorite "featured on AT" rooms. Love it.
Does anyone know the brand/model of the sofa in the first pic?
