I rarely think of neutral rugs as being eye candy, but that was before I saw these creations by the designer Andre Fu. Born in Hong Kong, Fu moved to the U.K. when he was 14. He often combines inspirations from both the East and West in his designs. If you look closely, you can see that these rugs resemble the simple composition of Chinese calligraphy or the complexity of English tweed. Fu believes that designs should always be rooted in historical references with visions of the future. Many think his design philosophy is a perfect representation of contemporary China — a country that is quickly modernizing but is still very traditional. Fu is also quickly changing the perception of what an "Oriental Rug" looks like.
