We've likely all daydreamed about where we'd live if money were no object. For me, isolated mountaintops haven't yet topped the list. That may well change, however, now that I've seen LEAP Factory's eco-friendly alpine pods.
The pods were designed to support trekking and skiing expeditions, but they still look like a spectacular place to spent some time (even if just to admire the views). Each pod is customizable, built off site, and airlifted into place by helicopter. They're also completely self-sufficient — the photovoltaic film on top provides all the necessary energy. Finally, each pod is made of ecologically certified materials and is designed to leave no footprint — when it's time to move, the pod is just lifted away again.
For more about the pods, see LEAP Factory.

I prefer the ones on a flat surface. The one hanging out over an edge would give me nightmares of rolling down the mountainside!
Beautiful landscapes and neat looking constructions.
As much as I love the idea, NO way would I be able to go inside the one hanging off the side of a mountain without a panic attack.
Just looking at that first one gives me a panic attack.
The first one's view is beautiful, peaceful, like the ultimate treehouse (but above the tree line). I really like the pod concept, for remote places, hoping it would help that when you fly the pod out you're taking all waste with it. There's nothing worse than hiking somewhere remote and finding it spoiled by what previous visitors left behind.
I agree with all about #1 but #1 has the best view. Cool idea.
What I would give to live someplace like that!!
Here is one that has a similar feel to the mountain top one you can stay in a bit more realistic in terms of price.
