Because no week should start off too seriously here's a favorite from my "extreme homes" inspiration archives. Unclear whether joke or tribute, the blogosphere dubbed Casa de Louis Vuitton which sits in Mexicali, has definitely succeeded in drawing international attention.
Stencils have undoubtedly been on the rise over the last few years, but I think it's safe to stay that this home may take the cake when it comes to boldest application.
Naturally, the question is would you do it? Well, maybe not Louis Vuitton, but would you ever consider stenciling the outside of your house?

OMG! i'm from Mexicali... please believe me when i say not every home looks like this around here... the heat just makes us do silly things some times... :(
haha that is funny, lupismore.
someone did Burberry.... http://dornob.com/cool-colors-10-crazy-painted-houses-home-painting-jobs/
I think it's fabulous. A pattern is the perfect thing to distract from the security bars that is sadly on every single house in that area. Now a cactus garden in the front to finish it off would be nice. Accessorize people, don't forget to accessorize!
This house is one hot mess!
When middle-class people aspire to have status gone way wrong.
ha! Trademark infringement lawsuit in five, four, three...lol
Nice landscaping.
Oh, I love this. Hilarious. Though methinks it's not so much an homage as it is a parody of people who go crazy over LV stuff and the like.
Which makes me love it even more.
It's actually really well done. I dislike logos on clothing (as my teenage son says, why would anyone be a "tool" for a brand?) and particularly hate the LV status print, but THIS is awesome.
Love the Zebra print house in cinematika's link!
Told my hubby it was a great idea and he was none too happy about that.
We live in Vegas so *I* think it would fit right in :OP
Hahahaha! I LOVE it! I never really understood irony in decorating, but now I think I do!!!!
(You know, just as long as it's not in my neighborhood.)
It's a knock off. I can see one of the LV's is cut off.
that is so awful, it's cool.
The juxtapositioning of a luxury monogram print & the dodgy bars on the windows is kind of hilarious. So goddamn ugly too

Was the Apartment Therapy copy editor off duty yesterday?
LOL morgie!

Daylight says:The pic was cropped from the image on the link with the fence.
The luxury monogram, dodgy bars on the window, "prison" fence that encloses this house, and the arid landscaping is the ultimate example of "ghetto fabulous"
I just snorted tea *morgie*. Too funny!
Odelay vatos!
Trashy
I LOVE it!!!
Gah! I have an LV hand-me-down from my mom that I love, but this is overkill!
For all the money they spent on this (I'm assuming), they could have bought and LV bag! Or at least gotten some landscaping...
I take this as social commentary rather than homage or serious decor. My girlfriend has LV stuff and the fact that she can spend that much on a bag makes me nauseous. She try's to justify it by talking about the quality and craftsmanship -- "I've had this for 5 years so it isn't really that expensive when you break it down" -- lol ridiculous!
@daylight: What AT copy editor?
This is great, I luv it!
If this is social commentary: BRILLIANT
If this is the home owners desire to live in a luxury brand they aspire to: SAD (and let's start a therapy fund on kickstarter)
no.
After seeing this logo on the bottom half a 1998 Nissan Altima in Miami, this isn't the least bit shocking. It is, however, really sad.
