I am sharing pictures of my mother's garden. My mother is a shy and quiet person, but her gardens have always been whimsical, creative, and wild. As a child, I'd delight in finding the hidden objects she'd mix among the plants.
Every summer, the garden would change, rearrange and evolve to something magical. This year is no exception with glimpses of her glass mosaics peeking out from under the leaves. I'm so happy that now her grandchildren get to experience the same wonder I felt spending time in her garden.
Thanks, Tallula!

White Enamel Four-P...
I love this! It's wild, but you can tell a lot of thought went into it. This is beautiful and I sure everyone who goes into it just loves being there! Thanks for sharing this!
Yes! I had the same idea with rusty fireplace surround - but wanted to use it in a Romantic Gardens' way: creating visual illusion. I had it all planned -it was supposed to be grouted into a low stone wall curving around an outdoor fire pit.
Unfortunately, it was never built, and my beautiful salvaged fireplace surround got broken later on...
Tallulah, your mother is an amazing gardener.
So beautiful! So right for a Friday afternoon. I am available to come over and have tea....:) in this wonderful space (I'm in Toronto). :)
in love
So beautiful & lush! Thank you for sharing the magic!
It's like a fairy tale.
It's a delight!
Wow -- this is seriously impressive.
I've always loved wild, creative and thoughtful gardens, especially since my own have always been orderly and reserved. Your mom is one talented woman...I'm not sure "gardener" is an adequate description for what she's doing here -- she's an artist and the garden is her medium. And she does it with such obvious love. Wonderful!
very pretty
Last summer we moved into a home that had multiple large gardens. It takes time, but I am slowly collecting things to make them this sort of style- but they'll never be as pretty as this! Your mom does beautiful work. I just LOVE the piece in the 4th photo!
A garden with the illusion of being wild, like this one, is more challenging to develop and maintain than a formal, precise garden. It's clearly well worth the extra effort. This "wild" garden is lovely.
Beautiful!
Yes, beautiful. I could lose myself just in the pictures
Just gorgeous. It takes a lot of planning to get a garden to look this "wild" and inviting at the same time.
I want to sit on a quilt on the grass here and knit all afternoon.
Amazing!!!
Absolutely wonderful! Even though I'm no longer a kid... I want to go poking around in that garden NOW to see all of the wonderful delights she has hidden there. :)
Wow, this is gorgeous!
She's not quiet... she's just TIRED. From creating this GORGEOUS garden!! A lot of work!! But what a lovely, lovely outcome. Was she ever a painter??
And I NEVER comment on gardens!
Thanks for all the kind words- I'll pass them along to my mom.
Patrick- funny you should mention it, my mom is a stained glass artist and she recently started painting too! You can check out her work at www.bluebirdmosaic.com.
I hope that someday a little of her creativity will rub off on me!
My dream (wild) garden! Perfect and mysterious!
enchanting. how long does it take to build such a dream. what are your first steps?
it's like the real version of the story "The secret garden".
so dreamy~
I'm a city girl and never think twice about gardens but this is just great..magical even! Love it!
