With three kids at home, Jaime is very familiar with the trials and tribulations of those ubiquitous LEGO blocks. From tiny pieces that clog the vacuum to fully assembled projects that require kid-glove handling, LEGO can be both a blessing and a curse in a busy household. In an effort to simplify her life and to help her kids preserve their masterpieces, Jaime developed a truly genius idea…

She designed and built portable LEGO trays to help her kids transport their creations from room to room while they are still in progress, helping to corral the extra pieces while also protecting the sometimes delicate creations. Jaime helpfully provided full step-by-step instructions to build these trays, but even if you don't have the time or the skills to build a tray from scratch, you can always modify her design to work with an existing tray you already own.

A huge thank you to Colleen for featuring my Lego trays, I'm honored and still in shock! You summed it all up perfectly. And to be honest my hubby is at the Lego store with the kids as I write picking up more baseplates so I can make more trays for friends' kids! Thank you, thank you.
That's really cool and clever! Can't believe nobody's thought of it before. I want to make some of these for my nephews now. Awesome, Jaime!
This is something that will be made this weekend...thank you!
I would have loved this as a kid!
