Half the fun of the KBIS tradeshow is seeing the sample kitchens set up by the big appliance companies to show off their stoves, fridges and dishwashers. Some are very traditional - just what you would expect to find on the pages of a kitchen renovation magazine - and some are pretty over the top in an attempt to stand out from the crowd...and those are the ones we love to see!
Here is a definitely OTT tansu inspired design from the GE booth…
Shown above, left to right:
1. Staggered height cabinets with built in ovens.
2. More staggered height storage.
3. The altar table style "island".
4. The very decorative facing for the dishwasher.
5. Honey colored cabinetry and black counters.

Very cool!
Not my taste, but I do like the wallpaper and the stain of the wood... rawr
Great for a tradeshow display - Not so hot for a kitchen where someone would really cook.
Doesn't leave much room for food prep, etc when all of the storage is stacked like that...like bepsf said, not very practical. I do like how "furniture like" it looks, however. More traditional than a super-sleek, European design.
I love the wallpaper in the first photo! Where could I find a design like this?
supercool. speaks kitchen "furniture" as opposed to kitchen cabinets. the beauty of there being so many amazing cabinet hardware designs now is that all of those drawers and cabinets could be outfitted with inserts for pots, pans and cooking implements. this is definitely thinking outside of the box. well, outside of one box and inside of others that are different sizes and stacked like stair steps.
Who makes that wallpaper?? :)
