Name: Tara
Location: Upper West Side — New York, New York

Our NYC duplex apartment occupies the garden level and rear parlor of an UWS brownstone. It is home to my husband, myself and our two kids, and also home to our design studio Oddopolis.

It was a pretty fast, cheap and furious apartment combo, but we love so many things about it from the exposed beamed ceiling in the dining room (so glad we did that), to the white exposed brick (and glad we did that), to the fact that the upstairs is our adult sanctuary (best decision ever). Since we combined apartments there are two living rooms and the one downstairs is the kid’s den with a closet full of games and a projector for movie time. The children’s bedrooms are also downstairs.

Our style is hard to pin down, a bit Seventies, a little Scandinavian, kinda Bohemian, a touch of Industrial, with some mid-century pieces throw in there. It’s us. And it’s a work in progress, evolving as our family evolves.

Thanks, Tara!
