I moved into my first all-mine apartment in August. Going from a 1,000 square-foot three bedroom to a 520 square-foot one bedroom spurred plenty of feel-good purging, yet I still managed to keep more stuff than I have room for. Since I've only been in my place for a few months, I'm using the January Cure to put systems in place before things (and bad habits) pile up.

I did a ton of cleaning, decorating, and painting when I first moved in, but I have a few projects I've put off (anyone else just hate shopping for curtains?). Much of what's left has to do with organizing the stuff I have a lot of (books, scarves, shoes, clothes, mason jars, kitchen equipment) and some small decorating projects (accent painting, shopping for additional art, replacing my bathroom mirror). Here is my project list in full:

Entry:
  • Organize shoes & outerwear
  • Streamline landing strip
Bath:
  • Declutter cabinet & cart
  • Buy art for walls
  • Replace bathroom mirror
Living room:
  • Build bookshelf
  • Build ladder for blanket storage
  • Make curtains
Kitchen:
  • Paint water heater cabinet
  • Paint inside edge of doorway
  • Organize jars/spices/appliances
  • Figure out broom storage
Bedroom:
  • Organize scarves
  • Buy curtains
  • Purge clothes

How is your Cure going?
