Guess what? I bought my curtain fabric on Friday! I am so obsessed with it. I've been staring at it longingly all weekend. But since I can't bear the thought of messing it up, today is all about getting acquainted with my sewing machine, and practicing long, straight lines on sample fabric.
I bought this White sewing machine from a neighbor's tag sale a month or so ago, and this is the first time I'm really sitting down with it. I really don't like not being good at things. I'm impatient, and it sucks to suck at something. Though I realize that putting a few hours practice and making mistakes on some extra yardage is much better than messing up my pretty (and pricey) curtains.
Since I have already committed to a bright pink chaise and an orange table, none of the fabrics I had researched online really worked for the room anymore (as much as I and all of you love that mustard one!). I went in to Zimman's hoping to be inspired, and I was. I took home 11 yards of this beauty:
Rainbow. Watercolor. Paisley. Pretty much everything I love in the world. I was so excited and writing down notes from the associate (cut panels 110" long? Yes, ma'am!), I forgot the clarify the brand and style for you all. The handwritten tag said "HAF Kathmandu," but I can't find any existence of that on the interwebs.
I can't wait to get these beauties done, so it's time to go back to my practice. If you have sewing tips for me, let me know in the comments!
