I'm really excited for the Jewel Box room to be Passion Plum. And, in case I needed another sign that I picked the right hue, even my watch matches. Though I can't wait for the sad, splotchy walls to be covered, painting is one of my least favorite tasks. So when I went to go buy my paint, I stocked up on supplies that should make the process as painless as possible.
Sure, you can paint a room with nothing more than a roller and an angled brush, but I'm a messy, lazy painter. So I bought all the accoutrements:
Not pictured: IKEA tarp.
Since I don't have a car, and I have at least two more rooms in my apartment that I need to get painted in the near future, I just stocked up on enough basic supplies like rollers so that I don't have to rent a Zipcar multiple times. I also bought my own extender rod so I don't have to borrow one. Since I have basement storage, it's not a problem to keep a few tools of my own.
I also hate taping. Even a small room takes forever to tape. Plus, that's just more time on a ::shudder:: ladder. So I got an edger, a paint cup, and a short brush for the trim.
You may have noticed some magnetic primer and chalkboard paint. I'm considering painting the small wall to the left of the door with that:
I think it would be a good place for a message center and a way to welcome guests to the guest room.
