What better light fixture for summer? The Taraxacum 88 suspension lamp is named for the scientific name for the dandelion. And it is definitely as bright as the summer: with 60 light bulbs covering its surface, the fixture is a total of 1500 watts!...

Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1988, it's the followup to his 1960 Taraxacum S2. While we're having fun looking at this beautiful fixture, we wouldn't want to own it: it would put off a lot of heat, use a lot of electricity, and it's priced way over our heads anyway: $4500 at Design Within Reach.
