Today we're eating our words. When we said before that we don't like to skimp on quality when it comes to bed and bath linens, it was true. But all of our sheets and blankets are still in transit (we just moved), so we decided to pick up a spare set at Target...
And they are great! We got the Home flannel sheet set in ivory, and the Fieldcrest coverlet in silver (more of a gray, really).
The sheets are really soft and warm - perfect for taking the chill off of cold nights in the Sunset. The blanket said to only wash in front-loading washing machine, but it came out of our top-loader just fine. It's a simple set, but so far we're really impressed with the texture and comfort level. Best of all, they're both discounted online - sheets for all sizes are $19.99, queen coverlet is $84 even.

Wow. very nice. I have had the most impossible time finding bedding to work in my space. I finally succumbed to the perfect bedding ensemble at the world's most ridiculous price ever. Seriously. You'd choke and my best friend said she'd bitch-slap me if I paid that much. (good thing she lives in another state and can't see my bedroom!). Sadly, this Target ensemble doesn't work so much for my space.
maybe its just me.. but that bed looks sad.
I can't imagine paying $84 for a blanket from Target. You can get a down comforter for that if you look for sales. I'm not seeing the great deal here.
I've always been impressed by the quality of Target linens. Glad to see I don't have an impossibly low threshold.
My bedding is from target. Not crazy about the sheets we got but the coverlet has been great. It was the only bedding in our price range that husband and I ever agreed on. I've been looking for a new one at all the usual home store places... reminds me I should look at target.
our duvet cover is from target and i love it. I've had it for two years (since I registered for it when we were married) and it's going strong. It may have faded a bit, but I like it that way = it's a muted color anyway. It was the ONLY one I liked of any store at the time.
"maybe its just me.. but that bed looks sad."
It's not just you - It really is Sad and Drab.
I also got my coverlet from Target and I'm happy with it. Pretty colors too. I"m also not crazy about the sheets, they don't feel very nice.
READ: they JUST moved in. These were bought as a place holder while their other linens are in transit. I'm sure if it was their regular bedding they would have a lovely bedskirt, accent pillows, etc.
If you're going to write snarky comments, at least take the time to read the whole post.
I bought some duvet covers for a twin bed from target at the local goodwill.
It was the isaac mizrahi butterfly pattern. The covers were brand new in original packaging.
Price $20 each.
Retail $79 each from target.
target, huh? call me snobby but i have doubts. and the price is a bit steep for the coverlette.
how many times did you guys wash the sheets? any balling (or whatever it is called) i washed my dkny sheets the other day and now i have to toss them because they're covered in those little lint balls!!! gggrrrr... so target, huh :)
I bought Isaac Mizrahi sheets from Target a few years ago, when they first came out in HOT PINK. They are still hot pink, I use them all the time, and they've worn wonderfully.
I love Target. I have always purchased bed sheets there. Everything is produced offshore anyways so why spend a lot for a designer label? Besides, I thought AT readers saved their pennies before the current financial crisis. Even the French could afford Target.
I all so bought Isaac Mizrahi orange reds and pink stripes sheet set at Target, There wonderful! so soft
I don't remember the brand but I picked up some bamboo sheets at Target and hot damn are they the most comfortable sheets I own.
the quality varies based on the brand. they carry quite a variety and much more online.
elinka189, you throw away your sheets when they become a little worn? i hate to think of what else you are so wasteful about!
I too love the Target bedding. The only complaint in all the sets I have is the bamboo sheets - they're OK, but they're not life-changing, like everyone claimed about bamboo. I'm most happy with my flannel, both the twin and full sets I bought were delightfully snuggly and washed really well. And a microfleece blanket was $20 or so and is one of the best bedding purchases ever.
yeah, i don't like to skimp either. but i also don't like living on a credit card or being strapped for cash because mamma wants a higher thread count.
target, mi piace.
I love Target's bamboo sheets as well. I know neither my husband or I want to get out of our bed in the morning and that is thanks to Ikea, Target and Denver Mattress :)
I've found that the Target linens can be just as expensive as the mid-level lines at TJ Max, Filenes, etc, too. Total toss up.
I will NEVER buy sheets or a duvet cover from Ikea again. Every piece of lint or hair grabbed on and wouldn't let go. I gave up after 6 months and haven't looked back.
I have been completely happy with my Target 600 thread count plain white sheets. I have three sets and that's all I use. They're an inexpensive luxury. (about $60.00/set)
Target's bedding dept. is a great secret, when you stick with their "high end" lines.
gquaker, I have had duvet covers both good and bad from Ikea. It seems to be dependent on the thread count: the smoother ones feel great and wear very well, but the cheap ones sometimes twist and never get that nice cottony feel no matter how many times they're washed.
