Tattoos are often intricate and personal. Why not apply those characteristics to your furniture and other home goods? Tattoo art can be added to pre-existing furniture via painting, print, hand or laser carving. You can also buy items from design studios like Mama Tried, run by the renowned tattoo artist Scott Campbell. His French provincial chair with the skull emblem back is a sure conversation piece. The combination of the antique chair structure and contemporary design is an odd, but complementary amalgam.
It's also possible to design your own tattoo furniture. There is an Australian-based company called Tattoo Furniture Design that will build custom furniture complete with tattoo-like embellishments. You can go to the company website and build your furniture through an online customization program.

The Mama Tried website no longer seems to exist. I wonder if these chairs have ceased to be made?
I want that chair.
Damn... it's not based in Australia but South Africa.
There's gonna be alot of "Tattoo Regret" in about 10-15 years...
...tattoo removal is going to be big business.
I'm in LOVE with this chair!

Wonder if I could upholster a chair with a good-quality heavy-weight cotton tee shirt that has a tattoo-style design I like?
There isn't a lot of rebellion associated with tattoos anymore. I do really like certain traditional tattoo art styles, though I don't think I want it in my decor.
I LOVE traditional style (both american and japanese) and I'm covered in it - but as far as home goods go, I'll stick to framed (custom, hand-painted) flash...and just a piece or two.
I loved that table when I first saw it a few years back - too bad it's not for sale.
