Design: Cantilevered Floor Lamp
Materials: Cold Rolled Steel, LED Bar, Stainless Steel Hardware
Pitch: "Inspired by the adjustable architectural drafting lamp, the Cantilevered Floor Lamp rises from a rectangular steel base at an angle and extends horizontally, cantilevering five feet. A linear slot of space allows for a beam of light to flood down to a table or workspace below."
"Its pivoting arm allows for 180 degree rotation with very little pressure. The lamp is powered by a 36" highly efficient and long lasting LED bar. The Lamp uses less than 6 watts, lasts for 100,000 hours, and is replaceable. It is available in hand brushed steel with a clear coat to prevent rust, and powder coated in an assortment of colors."
Inspiration: With a degree in architecture and a background in automotive suspension design, I began designing furniture while in college, with a desire to light my drafting table. Frustration with low quality and short life cycle furniture provoked a desire to build furniture with the same quality and care as the pieces that were handed down to me.
The Cantilevered Floor lamp has evolved through much iteration to its current prototype state through ah-ha moments and caveman-like scratching on concrete floors.
