Mornings are not our favorite time of the day. Often when the alarm clock rings there is nothing that we are less interesting in than getting out of bed. A great alarm clock can help with not only waking us up, but also in helping to get the day off to a great start. We have seen and blogged about some interesting alarm clocks before, like the Nature Lover's and voice controlled Moshi alarm clock, this alarm clock boasts a little something extra.
A remake of a classic product that has been around for over 70 years, the Teasmade not only functions as a nifty alarm clock, it also brews you a fine cup of tea. Made by Swan, the Teasmade is an alarm clock with a built in rapid water boiling function that allows you to wake to a fresh pot of a tea.
To use the Teasmade, you put tea bag into the pot the night before, fill the kettle with water, and then set the alarm. Incredibly simple and easy, we wonder why we do not see more of these in stores.
The clean design of the Teasmade would blend well in any modern home and we like its small footprint and cute LCD face. We imagine that waking up on cold rainy days would be all that much more pleasant with a fresh cup of tea at our bedside....oh how we would love a Teasmade!
Since this is a remake of a product that has been around for quite some time, we would love to hear from readers who have any experience with a Teasmade. Have you ever used a Teasmade?
The Teasmade STM100N2 sells for about $88. For more information, check out Swan.

Shaw's Original Fir...
What about the cream?
I want one! Too bad it's only wired for the UK.
I second the "what about the cream?", and propose an additional miniature refrigerated compartment that pulls out and is a tiny milk pitcher.
@ Sbeetle a converter would be an easy fix for those living in the states.
These have been widely available in Europe for decades. My gran had one for years. Very handy for an easy morning cuppa.
Does the tea bag soak in the water (cold brewing) all night? Not sure that would be ideal for delicate teas! I'd like it if there was a lever to drop the bag into the water when it starts heating up, to be able to control brew time.
Or I guess, just skip putting the bag and dip,dip once the water is heated.
@nj_gal - it's a little difficult to tell from the photos, but I think that there's a reservoir for the water. The tea bag is in the pot, but the water is in the heating kettle. Again, I'm just guessing, but I imagine that it dumps the boiling water onto the tea bag in the morning when the alarm goes off.
My question - does it take the tea bag out (or stop brewing some other way), or is the prospect of over-steeped tea part of the "alarm clock" function?
@ nicolac these are exactly the stories we love to hear... we are super curious about what it is like to own one of these!
@ marisab I was wondering the same thing, perhaps the tea is timed to be finished when the alarm sounds? I loathe over-steeped tea so that would definitely serve as an extra motivator for me to wake up!
i thought i could help answer some of the questions above, as i was part of the team that resurrected the Teasmade. Teasmade is a registered trademark for Swan, a leading kitchen appliance manufacturer that dates back 80 years in the United Kingdom. 10 minutes before the alarm goes off, the kettle inside kicks in and starts to boil the water. The heated water is forced by pressure into the waiting tea pot, which has housed your tea bags, or coffee, over night. Once the kettle dry boils it sets off the alarm to wake you up. The age old dilemma of where to put the milk (cream as you call it), it would not go off in 7/8 hours by your bed, or other ideas our community has come up with include leaving it on your window cill. We are currently looking for a US distributor. More info at our website swan-brand.co.uk or our Facebook page, search Swan Teasmade
