Tech Disconnect: I'm Banishing My Phone from My Bedside

Like a lot of people, I keep my cell phone on my nightstand. It's my alarm clock and, too many nights and mornings, a source of distraction. For months I've thought to myself that I should make a change. Well, internet friends, I'm finally going to do it.

I've found myself getting into a pattern where I'll spend anywhere between five and 45 minutes before bed on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest (often the latter). When I wake up lately, I'll turn off my phone alarm and pass a few minutes on one of those apps.

The bottom line is that I want to reclaim that time, because I already spend plenty of my day online. I have a real alarm clock that's very cute, and soon enough I'll settle on a new spot for my iPhone to overnight.
