Listening to music is one of our favorite pastimes and also a savior when it comes to getting in the right work mode or relieving stress. Although we listen to music with friends digitally with platforms like Turntable and Soundrop, it's also nice to encourage group listening. Here's a roundup of interesting tech that bring social to music listening.
Sound Sofa: Sound Sofa comes equipped with speakers so you get a couch and speakers all in one. The sofa has a built-in iPhone dock, USB port, SD card slot, stereo speakers and a subwoofer along with Bluetooth connectivity.
Headphone Splitter: Sharing earphones is a common practice if you're on the go. These headphone splitters make it a much more comfortable experience if you're in for a long ride on the bus and want to share your awesome playlist with a friend. We like the cute splitters at ModCloth including the Tree-t for Your Ears Headphone Splitter (currently backordered) and the Roboth splitter.
Jukey: Jukey isn't available and is currently just a concept, but we loved the idea and are hoping to see something like it go into production someday. Jukey takes what we love about apps like Spotify and Rdio and brings that to life with a physical speaker that users can send their music collections to with a smartphone. Jukey will then create smart playlists based on the majority of songs and genres submitted by everyone at the party.
