Utilizing contrast can be effective tool when it comes to decor. For example black and white kitchens or white linens in a dark room are striking examples. But contrast isn't solely rooted in color. The same alluring opposition can come from partnering certain concepts and material finishes, like docking a high-tech tablet or phone into a piece of raw driftwood.

Something about the sleek glass device plays perfectly against the natural wood, making for a stellar focal point to a credenza or desktop vignette.

Here are a few different retailers and independent crafters selling wooden docks online. But perusing the selection online makes me wonder if there's some correlation between fans of natural wood and devices based in Cupertino: all of the docks I was able to wrangle up are sold exclusively for iPhone and iPad. If anyone has any Android tablet compatible unfinished wood docks to add, please list them in the comments below!
