First, you'll need the original Fisher Price Record Player, which is easy to find on eBay if your parents didn't keep yours! Make sure to note that the reissued player from Basic Fun is not the same old-school music box mechanism. In fact, many people (myself included) were surprised to see they switched to recorded songs and a speaker, which are activated via grooves on the records and push buttons on the player. Frankly, it doesn't work as well as the original.
Now that you've got your player, it's time to get techie. The tutorial over at Instructables definitely requires some technical know-how. However, Shapeways, a popular 3D printing website, will print songs for you. Currently they have Stairway to Heaven and the Star Wars theme song availlable, thanks to the how-to author, Fred. You can find the links in the original Instructables post. But they do custom printing as well. So, will it be Dan Zane, Laurie Berkner, or maybe some Frank Sinatra or J.S. Bach?
