Oh, how we wish this was more affordable. Being fans of homes with lots of glass and no curtains, this is an interesting solution. Unfortunately it costs $1900 per square meter.
Pricing aside, this window technology from Nihon Telecommunication Systems in Japan is essentially a photo-voltaic cell sandwiched inside a window. The company states that these windows will provide enough energy to power a PC or charge a cell phone while also blocking out 90% of the sunlight coming into the room. Seems like a really pricey way to charge your cell phone, not to mention the blocked view. What do you think?
