To be honest, Unplggd reader Siobhan's DIY teddybear scares the heck out of us, perhaps because we were always bit wary about Teddy in the movie A.I.. But from a tech standpoint, it's a pretty cool DIY job using a digital photo frame to replace the stuffed animal's face, albeit one that would result in us sleeping with a baseball bat nearby...
Siobhan explains: This weekend I completed a fairly ambitious project, considering I am not very tech savvy. I received a digital photo frame for Christmas last year, which I immediately knew would get no use in our house in its original condition. As a good friend's birthday approached, I started to brainstorm how I could re-vamp this perfectly operational, but somewhat hokey device. An article on instructables.com inspired me to rip the face off a teddy bear and give him a digital photo screen-face instead! My friend adores the gift.
P.S. The bear wears the back end of the photo frame almost like a backpack, which has been embedded into the back and covered with a nice shiny gold fabric, with all buttons and jacks still accessible.
We commend Siobhan's DIY effort, despite our trepidation about sharing a room with Terror Teddy 3000; it would be a great idea for use with a wi-fi enabled digital frame so friends could send/upload new faces of themselves to the frame.

They should have put the screen on the belly so that it could be a mutated teletubbie.
