Tessa's Handmade and Hand-Me-Down Haven won't be surprised at the DIY creativity expressed once again by her parents - this time in a shady outdoor play spot for her brother ("The Littlest Buddy") and, of course, her when she's older. While many of us are bundling up and hunkering down for the winter, lots of readers are in warm parts of the country or enjoying summer south of the equator (hi Aussies!). Ryan, Cole, "LB" and Tessa live in hot, humid Florida so a teepee sandbox makes perfect sense any time of the year. It's a shady place to play, hide out or just relax (can you say mini beach party?). Ryan reports on a few measures he and wife Cole are taking to make this spot even more comfortable - using a patio screen material for the teepee cover which (theoretically at least) is supposed to reduce the temperature by 15 degrees in the shade and they plan to plant citronella plants around the teepee to reduce mosquitos. Having a shadeless backyard ourselves, we love this idea! Keep up with this fun family at Pacing the Panic Room.
