Design: Lake Log Lamps
Materials: Oak, lamp hardware, electrical wire
Designer: Ben Light
"My parents live on a man-made lake, originally used for ice harvesting. The lake had to be temporarily drained (some sort of algae issue), revealing long forgotten stumps and sunken logs. I was able to get my hands on this wonderful material and turn some lamps."
VOTING IS NOW CLOSED ON THIS ENTRY

"After being submerged for more than a century, the wood has become gray and full of character. It also makes identifying the species tough, I'm guessing oak with a hint of lake dirt.
The lamps are finished with tung oil and wax. All lamps have built in dimmer switches.
Price range: $250 - 400"

*whistle* Beautiful lamps, but that price renders me speechless. I gave it two stars because they're beautiful, but a little inaccessible.
Handsome. A bit dear, but I'm sure they will last a lifetime.

Beautiful! I think the price is a bargain, considering they are hand-made one-of-a-kind and will last a lifetime. Most lamps from CB2, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and Room & Board are in that price range, and aren't hand-made.
Well done!
LOVE IT!
I gave it 3 stars. Would love to see them stained a color.
i love these... i wonder how tough some of that wood was to turn...
wait, ben 'light'--'blight' design? pretty funny--and a very talented man.
Love, love, LOVE. But what happens when Ben runs out of wood? :(
They are beautiful!
Quality one-of-a-kind craftsmanship. Truly a unique gift or treasure.
I need it. Not just a beautiful, one-of-a-kind lamp...but a conversation starter. I can't wait to tell people that my lamp came from the bottom of a lake.
Ben's grandfather made lamps from WW II artillery shell casings and wood. The "bullet lamps" were conversation pieces, but not elegant like Ben's creations. Yeah Ben - your grandpa would love it.
