Q: Has anyone found a fun, quality chess set for the under-ten-set? My nephew and hubs have an awesome time playing chess and we would really like to buy the little fellow a set of his own. But, you know, not stuffy and not cheap. Something enticing! Also, not a zillion dollars. The chess set pictured (above) doesn't seem to be in production anymore. And yes, I have utilized the power of Google. I have more faith in you.

Editor: Actually, we found the chess set you mentioned still for sale at Uncommon Goods. But we have to agree - this seems to be an untapped product niche. We've included a few others we like and hope that our resourceful readers will have some more ideas.

1 Playmate Chess Set ($30)
2 Lanier Graham Chess Set ($65). This one might look a tiny bit stodgy, but, remember, he won't be a kid forever - this could be his lifetime chess set!
