Name: Julian Grey (2)
Location: Beaverton, Oregon
Room Size: 10' x 15', 150 sq ft
Julian Grey's room stole my heart during my recent visit to the incredible Rummer home of Jonya and Bradley Streeper. It is full of handmade stuffed animals, cherished books and great design ideas for any space.

Jonya and Bradley are very creative in their work and home, so it comes as no surprise their son's room would become an outlet for their skills. Jonya has knitted several of the stuffed animals her son pals around with, hung illustrated letter cards with cute clothespins spelling out Julian Grey's name and included a powder pink mobile (love defying color gender norms!). The couple also decided to use removable wall stickers to add brightness and cheer without committing to paint color.
Jonya and Bradley love to rotate new artwork, mostly made by friends, into the room, to keep things fresh and fun. They didn't follow much of a plan in this room, instead sticking with items their little boy enjoys and they feel good about too, mostly made by local artists and friends — sounds like a great decor philosophy to me!
What was your inspiration for the room?
We wanted the room to be bright and fun. We didn't follow a theme, just added things we liked and that seemed to complement our little man's personality.
What is your favorite element in the room?
The Oeuf crib and dresser set.
Before starting, what did you know you wanted to include, for sure?
The Eames rocking chair.
Were there any surprises? Good or bad?
We thought having a sink in the room would be fantastic, but actually it never gets used. Also, we don't have a closet for the room, so that has been a challenge for us.

What was your proudest DIY?
We like to keep the room fresh and change things up by rotating art, colors and keeping things interesting for all of us.
What was your biggest indulgence?
The Oeuf crib and dresser.
Any advice for other people starting this process?
Invest in a nice rocking chair.
If money was no object, what would your dream source be?
A dream item right now would be a wood playhouse from Modern Playhouse. Also, Kids Haus and Minor Details websites are pretty amazing for inspiration.

Where did the oven/stove come from? I didn't see it listed above...did I miss it?
Love this so much.
I like the designs and furniture of the rooms. It is nice room for a child with everything properly managed. The baby can sleep in the bed without any fear. You can also become tension free.
Love everything about this especially the butterflies, the poka dot walls and animal mobil. It's truly a child's room. I've see so many nurserys lately that seem to be designed for the Mother and not the child.
I'm surprised that you didnt' get more comments but maybe if folks don't have children, they are not interested. I have no children but still enjoyed the post.

I, too, admired the kitchen set. I found out that it's the Gourmet Kitchen made by Hape. I'm looking for one for my nephew and found it cheapest HERE on Amazon.
BTW, of all the room tours, I think this one is my fave. Good one, mom and dad.
Love it... contemporary, warm, relaxed, uncluttered... it's a sophisticated space which still looks like a fun place for a kid to call their own.
Thanks so much for the awesome comments! And thanks Leela for doing the tour!!
The kitchen is the Educo Gourmet Chefs kitchen.
Oops! Sorry @foodlover! I didn't realize it was Hape.
@ Jonya
Hi, I love this room. I noticed you have cork floors...they look finished, what did you use to finish them if you don't mind me asking.
We have cork in all bedrooms and in our loft. They supposedly came with a finish applied, but since then (it's only been a year!) they have been damaged by pets/kids. There is not too much information out there regarding additional post-installation finishes on cork unfortunately :-(
We bought our floors from build direct online, a discount place. So they were not too much help either. Any tips?
hi @Heela
The previous owners installed the cork flooring but dont think they are finished. They definitely show wear depending on the traffic in the room. Our dogs have sure left their mark as well as the sun in certain places. We clean them with a wet rag because we have not found very much information on a correct way to clean them either!
Good luck!
Love the room! Where did you get the bins for your IKEA bookcase? We have the same one and have been searching for bins just like that! Thanks :)
We got the bins at ikea too!
Thank you!!
