Name: Levi (11 Months)
Location: Toronto, Canada
Our culture does not believe in creating the nursery of your baby until after the baby is born. I am a very organized and like to be prepared, so I disregarded this superstition and went ahead anyway!
We knew Levi was a boy before he was born, but I didn't want the room to be too male-themed but also didn't want it to be cheesy. I thought a mint green was a nice calming wall color to make Levi feel warm and cozy in his new world. The three animals framed above Levi's crib were created by myself and a friend of mine. I wanted to add a personal, "home made" touch to Levi's room that he can continue to use in his room when he is a bit older. Once the pictures were created, a small animal/nature theme took place. The tree is from roomatespeelandstick.com and the letters are from Pottery Barn.
When Levi was born, I spent the first 6 months of his life in his room many times a night for feedings. As exhausted as I was, sitting in this friendly, welcoming room relaxed me and made me forget how tired I was and that this new life we created was the most amazing thing that could ever happen to me and my husband.
Thanks, Danielle and Cory!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Your room is very cute ! I think it'll grow easily with your child. I made a similar choice regarding the color, and chose a very light blue, and I totally agree with you: it's soothing for both mother and baby, and it helped me stay calm during the worst nights.
Being French, I also had comments when we decorated the nursery before our children's births, but I disregarded them. Who has time and energy to paint, decorate, shop, and DIY with a newborn ? The American way of preparing the nursery beforehand is much more sensible. Preparing beforehand gave you time to make those beautiful animals. Good choice and great taste !
Love the crib and dresser/ changing table.
I adore the animal prints! How sweet that you made them. I am sure your little one will love his room as he grows.
Love the little fire engine book holder! Do you mind sharing where you found it?
I got it as a gift but I believe it is from Mastermind. I hope you can find it! Good luck!
Thanks everyone else for all the great comments! So glad you enjoyed the pictures!
Hello - this is lovely! Where is the crib from?
