Name: Shannon's Son (3)
Location: Toronto, Canada
When I was expecting our second child, we turned the guest room into our son's bedroom. We bought the second-hand bed and ikea expedit shelves specifically for this room, everything else was scavenged from other rooms in the house.
The tulip chair, lamps, and drapes were leftovers from the guest room (the garland was part of his first birthday party decorations), the rug used to be in the master bedroom, the IKEA MALM dressers were formerly in the office. The two stools I bought on Craigslist for $15 before I knew what I would do with them. Likewise the duvet cover, it was picked up in its original packaging from Goodwill. One of my favorite things in the room is the plaid blanket on the tulip chair - it's an airplane blanket from my flight to Spain for a student exchange program when I was sixteen.
We filled the walls with home-made art! A giant felt board (previously featured on Apartment Therapy), my son's artwork, and eighty truck photos. One day I would like to fill the entire wall next to the bed with truck photos, and my son is game! He is constantly pointing to trucks on the road that he wants for his wall. Also, I should note that our entire house was painted the same colour - Para Paint Silver Fox P2238-4
Thank you for having us! This is the most colourful room in the house, and it was fun to pull together!

My 4 y.o. would never leave this room! The truck photos...genius!
I love it! It looks like a real kids room, not a show place, but with style and good function. I have a five year old who would love to come play there.
This is a truly lovely room. Well done!
Love that this room actually looks like a kid lives here! Great job.
Its a little ones dream room. And I love those stools, great find!
This is a great room. And I love the fact that it's your son who chooses which trucks to snap for his montage! Good job!
Lovely!
Nice job! Love the way you have so much transportation going on without it looking cheesy or unstylish. Great great. My toddler son would be in heaven.
