If choosing a mattress is the ultimate personal choice, then consider Tempur-Pedic an awesome mattress, but not everyone's cup of tea.
Started by Bob Trussell, a business guy, in Lexington, Kentucky in 1992, Tempur-Pedic has been a roller coaster success story ever since. Using the (then) new material - viscoelastic - which REALLY WAS created for use by NASA, Tempur-Pedic branded itself as a Swedish company and proceeded to replace regular old mattresses all over the country. Viscoelastic is now a now marketed under many other names, but Tempur-Pedic considers theirs denser and superior.
Tempur-Pedic is the original and among the most expensive. Mattresses start at $700 and go as high as $3500. They are meant to be used alone on a hard or slatted surface. The foam is breathable, allergen resistant, and shifts shape to support your body so that pressure is evenly distributed along your body.
Our brother has one and LOVES it, but there are some who find the different feel of foam unsettling or "hot". However, Tempur-Pedic offers a 90 day trial period, so you can try it without making a commitment.

If you buy the lower end Tempur-pedic (original) it does not have the airflow chambers the more expensive versions have and may sleep "hot". The misconception is that the foam holds the heat - the reality is the bed is improving circulation in the body by relieving pressure and you are actually hotter!
I would go with Vera Wang latex...very nice!!
Okay as for sex on temper-pedic icksney all the ney sayers---the KEY is to get the Euro system with the bed--the bed is then adjustable and has a massage unit for vibrating affect--lets just say there is a reason for honeymoon suites having this function on there beds(girls can throw away those devices your bed gets you in the mood)--plus because we sleep better on the bed--we have more energy and are in the mood more oftern--My husband and i are very satisfied---No pun intended
Have saved for years and just bought a tempur pedic allura "sleep system". Although the salesman told me that there might be a slight odor, I was flummoxed to discover how cloying and deep the smell actually was. It has been almost a week and there is still a significant odor that permeates thru the sheets, blankets, etc. I have opened the windows at 32 degrees and run a ceiling fan, but it is really hard to sleep and often I wake up coughing.
The mattress is also significantly harder than the wonderful one I laid on in the store. I stopped by Sleepys and asked the salesman if this odor would end and the mattress would get softer. He assured me both the smell would dissipate and the mattress would get more comfortable. I also called customer service at the Tempurpedic home office. The person told me to put an ozone machine or an air purifier in there as well - cha ching...too expensive - So everyday I strip the bed, tromp around on it with my Uggs on (to break up the cells, thus releasing the chemical off gasses) turn on the fan and open the windows. So far I am keeping the faith but stay tuned.
I hhave a king size cloud and love it. It set me back a lot of money but I thank myself every night that I bought it. I had a sleep number bed and after a few months started to hate it since it no longer provided the support it once did. I have had the cloud for a year now and I cant say one bad thing about it. My husband also loves the bed. I have a bad back and I tried each tempurpedic a few times bedoe I made the choice of the cloud. The cloud to me was the best of soft and firm it was just right
