Terrariums are back! Not only are the perfect size indoor garden for small spaces, but now there is a variety of lovely hand-blown glass objects and vintage vessels to choose from. Let your indoor garden grow after the jump!
I'm admittedly not much of a gardener. I think cultivating my own tiny terrarium could be the small green statement I'm looking for. Here are some terrariums that caught my eye:
Photo One: A simple route to the terrarium look. Michael Penney of Canadian House of Home took leafy ferns and bulbs and transplanted them into oversized jars for a quick and easy terrarium centerpiece.
Photo Two: The Slug and the Squirrel creates "one-of-a-kind living landscapes" on Etsy. I love their imaginative designs and storytelling nicknames. The one below is named, "Hold me like you'll never let go." Custom terrariums - $55-$450
Photo Three: Roost has created some charming hanging terrariums that would add a little green whimsy to any space. The vessels are made from recycled glass and are available at aHa! Modern Living - $68
Photo Four: Matteo Cibic's Domsai Mini Terrariums for small cactus plants are the perfect quirky desktop accessory.
Photo Five: The Bubble Wall Terrarium is available from Dig -$16.99 each. They also stock Terrarium Tools for the indoor gardener which includes a tiny rake and 2 tiny shovels - $32.99
Happy Planting!

These sealed examples wont work for very long, air exchange is needed.
Haven't I seen a cheaper version of #3 somewhere?
delg23:
Both cb2 and West Elm have cheaper vases similar to #3.
I think a mini-terrariums is going to be my next desk addition at work.
My friend had a DIY for 5:http://www.flickr.com/photos/9949768@N08/4338619480/in/photostream
@joeshack: not necessarily. My mom has had a closed terrarium for as long as I've been alive
Love terrariums! Perfect for those of us without big yards to fill with plants. We've got a DIY Window Garden video that may be helpful for those trying to get the look!

Thanks for featuring our Roost Recycled Hanging Terrariums!
I love terrariums because my cats eat my houseplants.
grow something!
I found a terrarium kit that comes with everything you need (including plants) to build in any container you already have or one you buy. I used a vintage jar I had on hand. I got to pick my plants that came with my kit (funny that I picked out colorful plants that matched my decor). Go to WWW.ENVIROCAKES.COM- they have some cool stuff!
