We see many nurseries transitioned into "big boy" or "big girl" rooms for toddlers which are often updated as kids enter school. But it's not every day that we come across great tween and teen rooms. (Do their moms not blog?) Which only meant we were super excited to see the room Chris and her husband have been working on for their son.
The biggest change to the room is the addition of a wood paneled wall which adds a ton of character. The sophisticated grey and orange decor is mature, but still youthful. And, Chris isn't even done yet, this is just her first "reveal" of the room.
To really appreciate the transformation, check out the before photos (of a perfectly nice, but younger-feeling room) on her blog, Just a Girl, as well as read about the making of the wood pallet wall in two parts part 1 and part 2 (and, yes, she's aware of the controversy about using pallet wood in the home).

Wow what a huge before and after! I really love the switch to darker furniture and that wonderful wall! I'd love to know how to do something like that. Impressed.
