Inspiration for my palette:
My big painting no longer had a home in our living room, so it was a perfect opportunity to paint the bedroom (which was previously a somewhat depressing, dark brown sage green). I chose "Powdered Peach" because it complimented both the painting and the textiles we already had, and it fulfilled my long-time secret wish for a pink bedroom. I'm pretty sure my husband knows that 'peach' is 'pink,' so kudos to him for not raising a fuss.
Colors used in my room
Behr's "Powdered Peach"
Benjamin Moore's "Coventry Grey" (on the desk)
Tips for using color successfully
I think it's best to avoid over thinking everything. Just keep experimenting until it feels right.
