Design: Tertulia Chairs
Materials: wood (Tertulia Giardino), Stainless steel (Tertulia Milan)
Designer: Efrain E. Velez
"Tertulia’ is the Spanish word for gathering, a conversational get together in which people simply sit and exchange their ideas freely. Tertulias can happen in a moments notice. They can happen anytime or anyplace. A folding chair was simply the most natural departing point typology for this project."
VOTING IS NOW CLOSED ON THIS ENTRY

"‘Tertulia is a multi-purpose /flexi-use folding chair originally derived from the metal curved rods inside a climbing pack. Their design features a unique patent pending geometry that does not rely on either an “X” or “A” Frame configuration, and yet allows for infinite material and pattern design configurations. Four working prototypes have been completed. Two prototypes in wood and stainless steel were debuted at the Salone del Mobile, (Milan, Italy) in 2008. A fifth, new, lighter aluminum prototype is currently being on the works, and is scheduled to be done by the end of November 2010."

It's really nice chair & fit to be best seller in stacking or folding chair segment. I also created stack chairs segment on my office chairs website [Spider Office Chairs]. I am eager to get consider above chair to that category. What you think about it?
cool chairs, nice design, but after all it's only a smallish, folding, and probably uncomfortable chair.
I would give this 100 stars if I could.
Where do we buy them?!
Beautiful!
Just simply beautiful work!
Don't like them at all. It looks like if you sat on them you'd get injured. Too stark and cold. UGLY.
Linbo- I have sat in one of these chairs myself and it is very comfortable. The curves of the seat and the back conform very nicely to the human backside. Pretty, stylish, and comfortable- these should just be the new standard, especially at long events like weddings!
Well Done Sir,.,.Well Done...
Que bien se ven las sillas. Felicidades Efra por un trabajo muy bien hecho y por ver convertida una idea en realidad. Espero verlas a la venta al publico general pronto. Especialmente para las fiestas aca en PR. Saulo
I had the opportunity to sit on them and they are very comfortable and light enough to carry them around. Let me know where I can get some because they are great for parties and events. Congratulations.
Daniel
How'd you get such elegant curves to spring out of a flat fold like that? And homegrown in Austin, no less! Just wanted to let you know that I tried to vote twice, but the system won't let us cheat, darnit. Good luck.
Hello everyone! Thanks for all your comments votes and 'likeys' This project is still a work in progress so I thought I'd share its process and beginnings in my blog: www.studioefra.com
